The MISTER system consists of 4 main elements:
- Aerial (3D) infrastructure - columns supporting light guideway structure. Power rails to supply energy to the vehicles (like railway).
-
Small, 1 to 5 person automatic vehicles (Pods), electrically powered from external traction. Deadweight 300 kg, payload 400 kg.
-
Small OFF LINE stops, which therefore do not block any main-line traffic
-
Distributed but integrated computer systems
Benefits of MISTER over other systems
-
Higher throughput (better than buses, light rail/tramways or even metros - for the comparable development cost).
-
No collisions - maximum safety.
-
Individual and direct travel between starting and destination points - no queuing, no delays and no congestion.
-
Comfortable with climate control, information system and multimedia entertainment.
- Personal safety - no pickpockets, no attacks
- 100% accessible at all stops for wheelchairs and mothers with push chairs
-
Major reduction of transit times between start and destination (average speed of 50 km/h).
-
Major reduction of air pollution (small electric motors, no exhausts, no oils or tires).
-
Substantial reduction in energy consumption per payload unit (approx. 10% of bus).
-
Major reduction in cost and time of infrastructure development, even along inner city roads.
-
Major reduction of real estate demands for infrastructure.
-
Anti-terrorist structure, due to “target dispersement”.
-
Anti-flooding characteristic, as it operates 6+ meters above the ground.
-
Reduction in remaining road vehicles congestions, accidents, traffic jam.
- Logistics transportation, refuse removal in designated Pods - a reduction in the number of trucks delivering/collecting goods within city.
